Character Analysis
Jeannine's sister-in-law Eileen wants two things in life: to be a good wife and to be a good mother. Hand-in-hand with her mother-in-law, she seems to spend most of her days doing housework and looking after her children while Bud Dadier goes fly-fishing. In the evenings, when she and Bud go out together, she looks forward to getting back home to her kids.
Eileen treats Jeannine like a younger sister, but she's probably not that much older than her, if at all. As somebody's wife and mother, though, she has a certain social status that spinster Jeannine hasn't got.
