Emma
- Emma is afraid to talk to Josh because she'll start crying again—she notices that he looks uncomfortable and once again thinks about how different their friendship is now.
- She tells him about how the website looks different except for the fact that it still says Facebook at the top of the page.
- Two red flags: (1) Older Emma is wearing the same necklace that Emma has, and (2) she's writing from a year where May 19th is a different day of the week.
- Because the pictures and everything keep changing, it must be from… the future.
- Here's the bad news: Emma is posting things about being unhappy because her future husband still isn't home days after his business trip, and she's also posting about being unemployed and needing a therapist. Ouch.
- Emma's logic is that nobody posts personal stuff like this about themselves for everyone to see, so her future self must be mentally ill.
- Emma's mom walks in just in time for Emma to block the screen. Time to get offline.
- Josh turns to leave, but first he makes Emma promise to not look on the website alone anymore. They make a deal to only look at it together so she won't get upset.
- There's something else on there, though, that Emma hasn't showed him—she tells him to come back tomorrow.
