Father Connolley

Even if Granny's not totally sold on the whole religion thing (she waits for a sign from God who never bothers to show up, which we admit must be pretty annoying), Father Connolley has done his best to be her spiritual guide. He's at her bedside as she's dying, like a good priest, and Granny tells us that it's been his practice to "drop in and inquire about her soul as if it were a teething baby" (49).
