Granny Weatherall

Love her or hate her, Granny is the character whose thoughts and actions we follow super closely throughout the story. Not only do we share her experience of confronting (gulp) mortality, we're invited into her head to explore many of the memories that have had a profound impact on who she is. After spending all that time with Granny, we can't help but at least feel at least some sympathy for her in her last few moments on earth.
