Sam Spade

Whose name is on the door? After Archer is rubbed out (and his name is rubbed off the glass) it's Detective Sam Spade. He's the first character we met, the last character who speaks, and he appears in almost every single scene. Through him, we learn the clues to the case and try to decipher them right alongside him. But Spade's nebulous morals and cold heart (if he even has one), make him more of an anti-hero than someone you actively root for.
