Character Analysis
I Love You, Man
Minho is a pretty sweet dude. As Keeper of the Runners he is one of the senior boys in the Glade, and for good reason. He is level-headed, brave, and intelligent, but all of these qualities become much more evident after Thomas helps him see outside the box.
When we first get to know him, Minho is abandoning Thomas to fend for himself seconds after the doors shut them into the Maze overnight. So much for being a role model. But later that night he returns for Thomas, and together they form a bond of mutual admiration.
Minho becomes one of Thomas's first supporters when he nominates him to take his place as Keeper of the Runners during a Gathering. He knew he was aiming too high, but his goal to make Thomas a Runner before his time was accomplished. Minho knew that he had something special after watching him handle the Griever in the Maze, and Thomas did save his and Alby's lives, after all.
From that moment forward, Minho is the guy who people turn to if they need something done. Newt selects him for the secret mission to relocate the Maps, and he is a pivotal player in the escape from the Glade.
