This is a book about two young women who become mistresses to the king. They don't earn his affections by crocheting and going on picnics. And once they're in his bed, they're not just lying there and completing coloring books together.
So if you hadn't guesses, there's a lot of sex in this book–and when you're job title is "King's Mistress," you're pretty blunt about it, too.
