Character Analysis
Miss Bornstein is the schoolteacher in Barberton and Peekay's first crush. Just take a look at how he describes her:
Miss Bornstein was the most beautiful person I had ever seen. She had long black hair and the biggest green eyes ever seen and a large mouth that shone with red lipstick. Her skin was lightly tanned and without a single blemish. At ten you are not supposed to be sexually attracted, but every nerve in my body cried out to be a closer part of this beautiful woman. Overall, she's a smart lady who used to teach in the college in the capital and sees the potential of Peekay's intelligence and encourages him to go above and beyond the town limits. She's the one who pushes him to take the scholarship exam of the Prince of Wales School and also for the Rhodes scholarship.
