Character Analysis

Being a midwife seems to be a pretty common profession in this book: Rachel, Dinah, and Meryt are all midwives. But what about the original midwife? The one Rachel learned from?

Well, that would be Inna, the midwife who helped deliver Jacob's children. With so many midwives, we need to thank Inna for being the one who got everything started. She doesn't last long in the book, but hey, without her, Rachel and Dinah wouldn't have become famous for being great midwives.
