If You Love Something, Set It Free
Right before the final chapter, Puck wins the Scorpio Races, pays off her house, and with the help of Finn's winnings, helps Sean buy Corr and everyone lives happily ever after. It's a surprisingly cheery ending for a book in which a horse tore a puppy apart on a beach.
The most heartwarming moment occurs in the last chapter. Corr was injured in the races, so Sean decides to let him go free, where he can romp in the sea and be happy. But Corr doesn't leave. He returns to the beach, and to Sean, and bites his face off. Okay, he doesn't eat Sean, but he does return to him, because Thisby is now his home.
