- Johnny shows up at Henry Gondorff's place. At first, a woman named Billie blows him off. But she lets him in when he mentions Luther's name.
- Johnny goes into an old apartment and finds Gondorff passed out drunk. He's obviously unimpressed and puts the guy into a cold shower to help him sober up. Once Henry is awake, they exchange pleasantries.
- Johnny wants to know what happened to Henry, since Luther always played him up as such a big shot. Henry says he tried to con a senator and got hit by the FBI in the process when someone sold him out.
- The next thing Henry wants to know is if Doyle Lonnegan is after Johnny…because that wouldn't be great for either of them.
- Back in New York, the henchman Floyd walks up to Lonnegan on the golf course and tells him that one of the grifters who robbed him is dead, but the other got away. Lonnegan says he wants his people to keep chasing the second girfter, or else people will think he's weak and will try to horn in on his mob territory.
