Gregory the Jailer

Even though Gregory the Jailer is a terrifying guy at first, he's also a man who still knows the difference between right and wrong. He shows Despereaux how to get out of the dungeons, saving his life and allowing him to save the princess. He also warns Mig against trusting rats because he knows that she'll be led astray if she does. Too bad she doesn't listen to his solid advice.
