Verbal / Kujan

Verbal and Kujan are a bit of an odd couple: Verbal's relatively calm, and seems to be a meek lil' dude. Kujan's an aggressive bully who tries to force Verbal into giving him the information he wants.

Verbal acts like he's cowed, at one point crying and admitting that Keaton was the one who orchestrated the whole plot—but this is just part of Verbal's subtle approach (which, of course, contrasts with Kujan's overly brash and straightforward tactics).

Verbal tricks Kujan through misdirection and Kujan tries to threaten Verbal into giving him the truth. The cop acts confident in his intelligence—sure that he's more capable and aware—while the criminal quietly uses his superior intellect to outwit him.
