Character Role Analysis

Cecilia and Lux

These two sisters are the ones we most get to know in the novel, and also the ones that are the most different. Cecilia, the youngest, is innocent, childlike, and virginal. She floats around like a disembodied spirit wearing a wearing a tattered white wedding dress. Lux, the second youngest, is all about her body, a sex bomb who invites strangers to meet her on the roof and have sex every chance she gets. Initially, they deal with their pain in very different ways, but in the end, Lux follows her sister to suicide.
