Becky Thatcher

Becky Thatcher's a vision in pigtails, and she's the perfect girl for someone like Tom. She plays hard to get – but not too hard to get; she laughs at his jokes and is, generally, rather adorable. At the same time, she's a bit of a stereotype. She's liable to cry at the drop of the hat, she can get catty when she sees her territory threatened. Overall, she's not a very well developed character, but her presence does add a bit of romance to the story.
