The Invading Military

The soldiers who invade Wirrawee mean business. In no time at all, they round up pretty much everyone in town, holding them captive at the Showground and effectively ending life as everyone's known it. These soldiers are the reason Ellie and her pals have to hide out in the woods, and they're the reason their families go missing and their pets die. They're pretty much the source of every significant problem in the book, so yeah—they're definitely the antagonists.
