- To fund the trip, Cole has to sell all of his belongings—we're talking his dirt bike, his snowmobile, and his skis. Then he sets off on the boat with Edwin and Garvey to get to the island.
- When they reach the island, Garvey and Edwin tell him that he has to do everything. They'll stay for a few days to answer questions while he builds his shelter, but they're not going to help.
- They walk away, telling him to unload the supplies, set up a tent, and have dinner ready in two hours. He's really going to have to work for it this time.
- Cole makes hot dogs and they all sit there and eat; Garvey tells Cole that he should make his time on the island a celebration of being alive.
