The Wee Free Men Theme of The Supernatural

The Wee Free Men is certainly not big on realism, that's for sure, and Tiffany is exposed to some pretty bizarre and mystical creatures right away. She meets a bunch of little blue men (whom she later goes on an adventure with), talks to a witch who offers her lessons, and eventually ends up in another world called Fairyland where dreams come terrifyingly true. Wow, right?

The interesting thing to note is that even though we're thrust into a world of supernatural creatures and powers, Tiffany never uses supernatural powers to fight the big bad Queen. Nope, she just uses good old-fashioned little girl logic.

Chew on This

Try on an opinion or two, start a debate, or play the devil’s advocate.

Tiffany defeats the Queen because of her lack of real magic. She can operate in the real world, whereas the Queen has always relied on cheap and showy tricks.

Grandma Aching and Tiffany are real witches not because of their supernatural powers, but because they're clever and can take care of the Chalk better than anyone else.
