Tony

Tony's the guy whose side we're always on, the guy we're rooting for right up until the moment when he gets shot dead on the street. He's a heroic figure, a decent, loving guy who sacrifices his life for love and some hope for a future. If that's not a protagonist, we don't know what is.

Maria

This is a love story, after all, and just as there wouldn't be a Romeo without his Juliet, there wouldn't be a Tony without Maria. Their souls are intertwined from the get-go and what happens to one of them, happens to them both. Co-protagonists, is our call.
