Plastic surgery isn't for dummies. You need some serious chops to do this job and a pedigree to prove it. Aside from the Bachelor of Science Degree, and the 4 years of med school (at a top University, you don't want to put anything less than a fancy Ivy League degree on the wall of your posh digs), there's about 6 years of residency work as a surgical intern specializing in plastics. Then you'll need to get licensed, of course.

You'll need to pass the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) or the Comprehensive Osteopathic Medical Licensing Exam (COMLEX), so bone up and crack out the flash cards on your various diseases and patient care info.

If you want board certification (and you do, especially if you plan on practicing in Beverly Hills), you'll have to pass an exam administered by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Osteopathic Board of Surgery.
