You might not be the President of the United States, but you are vetted by him and you’ve probably met him more than once… Oh, and no big deal, but you’re in charge of a nuclear-powered, covert, underwater ship with enough weapons to destroy the entire United States and all the rest of the world. And the average submarine has a crew of around 100 people. That’s 100 people living underwater, without natural light, who get up in the morning when you say it’s morning and go to bed when you say “Lights out.” So yeah, you’re powerful.
