Romance? Wealth? Conniving, backstabbing relatives? Yeah, not surprising that we'd give this one an R rating.
A book about young people in love and parents trying to intervene wouldn't be complete without some references to sex and romance. The references to sex and intimacy aren't gratuitous in the book and are included to either indicate intimacy in a relationship or to further the plot.
Sex talk to develop the plot? What? You heard us right. The most graphic discussion of sex is intended to hurt Rachel. And, well-played, Francesca, because it does. The discussion of a threesome and Nick's techniques initially feel gratuitous, but seeing how their intention is to make Rachel jealous and want to flee...well, it worked.
