Mr. Weasley is still a kind of surrogate father figure to Harry, and in some ways, to Hermione, albeit a distant one here – since we're following the wandering trio, we don't see anyone back home at the Burrow very often.
We get a glimpse of Mr. Weasley's working life at the tension-filled Ministry of Magic early on in the novel, which gives us some insight into the pressures he has to deal with as a so-called "Blood Traitor," who's a pureblood wizard but sympathetic to Muggle-borns. As a self-avowed Muggle lover, Mr. Weasley is firmly against the new regime, led by Voldemort's supporters, and he, like the other Order members, will do anything to oppose it.
More than putting up with such irritations as being monitored all the time, though, Mr. Weasley must deal with the loss of a son and many of his close friends during this book. And, though we never see his reaction to the news, we can only imagine what the aftermath was for the heads of the Weasley home.
