House: Slytherin, 7th Year
Crabbe, one of Draco Malfoy's minions, comes into his own, in a way, in this book – we've never really heard him speak up before, but being allowed to do Dark Magic in school under the tutelage of the Carrows has really encouraged the guy. He's become confident in his bullying, and no longer just listens to Malfoy's orders. He shows up with Malfoy and Goyle in their ambush on Harry in the Room of Requirement (when they're looking for Ravenclaw's diadem), and actually takes charge – in a very bad way. He starts firing curses everywhere, including at Hermione, and starts the unstoppable Fiendfyre that ends up destroying everything in the room, including the Horcrux diadem. Oh yeah, and it destroys Crabbe, too – he becomes the only victim of his own inept evildoing. The moral of Crabbe's story is, if you have to be evil, make sure you've got your evil under control. (Um, or maybe just don't be evil.)
