Brain Snacks: Tasty Tidbits of Knowledge
In the Author's Note to Paper Towns, John Green mentions this one time he was on a road trip himself, and tried to find the town of Holen, South Dakota. It doesn't exist, though—it was a town that "existed only on the map." That's how he got the idea for Agloe. How long until his fans go to South Dakota and build Holen themselves?
Is Margo hiding in a place that sounds like she's all "aglow" or a place where Agway might set up shop? In other words, is Agloe pronounced "AGG-low" or "a-GLOW"? John Green says AGG-low, but he doesn't mind if you pronounce it some other way. Just don't call it "Orlando" or something. (Source.)
The Paper Towns movie was shot in North Carolina instead of Florida, not because everyone hates Florida, but because of tax reasons. Maybe Green's parents will cameo in the film since they live in Asheville, North Carolina. (Source.)
