Stress

Games take place virtually every weekend from November to March, but unless you're on a road trip, you won't miss any of your favorite classes. Sure, there are pesky practices that get in the way of classes and sleep, but they cannot exceed twenty hours in a week or four hours in a given day (source).

However, life isn't completely stress-free for your typical college hockey athlete. Fans are very passionate, especially at D-I schools, and they expect their teams to win. And since hockey is by nature a low-scoring game, you can't whiff on too many scoring opportunities because you never know when (or if?) you'll get another chance.

Oh, and playoff time brings the possibility of the biggest stress-inducers of all—sudden death hockey. That's right. One goal ends the game. If you're team doesn't score that goal, your season is over. Now that's pressure.
