Stress

College athletes, even ones in unpopular sports, basically have two full-time jobs. You have to be all-student and all-athlete, all the time. And unlike, say, a football player, you won't even have the gratification of knowing that you're bringing joy (or possibly sorrow) to hundreds of thousands of people.

Them's the breaks, Shmoopers. You'll be in the gym and on the field 24/7, with only short breaks for schoolwork, and you won't even be a national sports hero. Bummer.
