Famous Athletes
Karch Kiraly. Besides his awesomely alliterative name, Kiraly is widely regarded as the greatest volleyballer of all time thanks to his incredible winning percentage and multiple Olympic Gold Medals. He played college ball at UCLA.
Kerri Walsh Jennings. Although Jennings started out playing the indoor game, she didn't reach her full potential until she started playing beach volleyball. After finishing up her career at Stanford University, she partnered up with Misty May-Treanor and the pair proceeded to dominate the Olympic Games throughout the 2000s.
Lang Ping. Ping is such a ferocious spiker that she earned the nickname "Iron Hammer." Yeah, that's awesome. After her illustrious career ended, she started coaching the Chinese National team and even faced off with Karch Kiraly's U.S. team in 2014.
Regla Torres. She had already won her first Olympic Gold Medal before she was old enough to buy a lottery ticket. Impressive. Frankly, we weren't doing anything except watching TRL marathons when we were that age.
Steve Timmons. Timmons is rightly regarded as one of the top volleyball players of all time, mostly thanks to his impressive streak of Olympic performances between 1984 and 1992. But if we're being honest, it's all about dat hair.
