Honeycomb

Symbolism, Imagery, Allegory

Proverbs uses gathering honey as a symbol for wisdom:

My child, eat honey, for it is good, and the drippings of the honeycomb are sweet to your taste. Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, you will find a future, and your hope will not be cut off. (Proverbs 24:13-14)

In a way, you could see this as drawing a parallel between the way bees gather honey, and the way wise men and wise women gather wisdom. Or, it could just be a general statement about how wisdom is sweet to the soul.
