Lester's journey toward greater happiness and self-acceptance gets some help from an unlikely source: the teenaged boy next door. When Lester sees Ricky telling off his boss so he can smoke pot in peace while on the job, Lester is totally impressed—and it seems to inspire him to stand up to his own boss and just generally put more emphasis on being happy over playing "the game" the way others want him to.
