How we cite our quotes: All quotations are from Beauty and the Beast.
Quote #1
NARRATOR: The prince tried to apologize, but it was too late, for she had seen that there was no love in his heart, and as punishment, she transformed him into a hideous beast.
Lesson number one: without a loving heart, you're just an animal. Apologies to our dogs, who adore us.
Quote #2
GASTON: Right from the moment when I met her / Saw her / I said, "She's gorgeous," and I fell.
Notice how the line doesn't say "fell in love." Gaston never uses the word "love," probably because he doesn't really understand what it means.
Quote #3
BEAST: That hurts!
BELLE: If you'd hold still, it wouldn't hurt as much!
BEAST: Well, if you hadn't have run away, this wouldn't have happened.
BELLE: If you hadn't frightened me, I wouldn't have run away!
BEAST: Well, you shouldn't have been in the west wing!
BELLE: Well, you should learn to control your temper. Now, hold still. This might sting a little. By the way, thank you...for saving my life.
BEAST: You're welcome.
Big things start with small gestures, and this little symbol of newfound respect is actually the first sign that Belle and the Beast could be anything more than enemies.
