The Geffen Film Company / Warner Brothers
Back in the day, David Geffen was a big- shot producer who made loads of legendary music and films.
(Plus, UCLA named its medical school after him. He's not a doctor, and he doesn't play one on TV. He just gave them $200,000,000.)
That's why, when he founded The Geffen Film Company in 1980, people sat up and took notice. His company produced some of the top grossing movies of the '80s and '90s, including Risky Business, Interview with the Vampire, and, of course, Beetlejuice.
The Geffen Film Company closed down production in 1998, but since Beetlejuice and other Geffen films were produced and distributed with Warner Brothers, they're technically owned by Warner Brothers today.
That means, in addition to collecting royalties on Harry Potter and Batman, Warner Brothers gets to call Beetlejuice its own, too.
Not a shabby addition to the old catalogue.
