Gemma (sort of)

Yeah, we know it sounds a little cold-hearted to cast Becca's poor dead grandma as her antagonist. Thing is, Gemma isn't an antagonist in the strictest sense of the word. Obviously she's not a villain or Becca's enemy or anything like that. It's just that Becca's big project in the story is figuring out who, exactly, Gemma was. That's a secret that Gemma kept from her family her whole entire life. So, there's a sense in which the story puts Becca and Gemma at odds.
