Stan

There are a few different characters who help Becca during her search for information about Gemma, but Stan is the most important. He's the one who pushes Becca to follow the leads; without Stan's motivation, she might have dropped the project early on. As a guy who was adopted as a kid, he went through a similar process when he tracked down his birth family.

Plus, he's her boss at work, and we're pretty sure that counts as "mentor." For example, at the end of the story, he teaches her how to kiss in airports.
