Noah Cross

Noah is the evil puppet master. He's pulling all the strings (and making all the dollars) at everyone else's expense.

It's Jake's job to unravel Noah's nefarious designs, but, by the time he gets to the end and figures out what's going on, he finds that Noah still wins. Whereas Jake is trying to solve the mystery, and Evelyn is a victim of that mystery, Noah is the one who creates the mystery—without him there'd be no plot. He's like a spider weaving the web of that plot, while Jake and Evelyn are like flies trying to find a way out.
