John Huff
John is one of Doug's two best friends, alongside Charlie Woodman. He's godlike among the boys because of his physical strength and speed, and he's present for most of Doug and Tom's adventures, until his dad's new job in Milwaukee causes the family to move from Green Town.

Charlie is Doug's other best friend, alongside John Huff.
Alice and Jane
Alice and Jane are Tom Spaulding's friends who take Helen Bentley's comb and ring because they don't believe she was ever young enough to have owned them.
