If you're wondering where the title Flipped comes from, look no further than Juli and Bryce themselves. Yep—each of our main characters says that they've flipped at least once in this tale. Check it out:
For our gal Juli, flipping is all about falling for Bryce's baby blue eyes: "The first day I met Bryce Loski, I flipped. Honestly, one look at him and I became a lunatic. It's his eyes" (2.1). When Juli flips, it's because she's seriously smitten—it's like she's doing somersaults of happiness when she sees those blue eyes. And, of course, she flips her feelings away from Bryce eventually, too.
For our boy Bryce, flipping is all about seeing Juli in a new light: "Garret was right about one thing—I had flipped" (13.161). So when Bryce flips, it's about his ability to change—and boy does he go through some huge changes when his feelings for Juli flip-flop from sour to sweet.
So right from the title, we've got an idea that this book will be filled with lots of excitement and dramatic transformations. What else do you think the title Flipped might refer to?
