The French Connection Scene 14 Summary

  • As the camera opens on a gigantic lot of cars, a subtitled French voice explains that these are all cars that have been abandoned or confiscated during crimes.
  • Charnier and his wife are being led through the lot by Devereaux's translator, who it seems is more than just a translator. Charnier and others are inspecting the cars, and a whistle blows.
  • Uniformed policemen blow whistles outside a trailer, and inside a police auction begins. Charnier's girlfriend takes pictures, and the translator points Lou's brother out to Charnier: he's our bidder, he explains.
  • Charnier gets a four-door rambler.
