• After her business partner at the Blue Box diner in Brooklyn cleans out their bank account and skips town, Addie is forced to close the diner and move yet again.
• She and her niece Hope (whom she's raised from birth) stuff their belongings into Addie's Buick and drive to Wisconsin, where Addie will take over as the head cook and manager of the Welcome Stairways diner.
• Addie's superb cooking takes the town by storm but she and G.T. clash in the kitchen.
• She's really not pleased when G.T. announces his plan to run for mayor of Mulhoney.
• Addie has to fly solo in the kitchen while Braverman is out recovering from the injuries he received when he got beat up. G.T. steps in to help, but within twenty minutes they're at each other's throats. G.T. realizes that there are too many cooks in the kitchen and says (politely) "I'm outta here."
• Addie and G.T. get along much better now that he's stopped interfering with Addie's cooking. Nevertheless, everyone is shocked when G.T. asks her out on a date and even more shocked when she says yes (rather than throw knives at him).
• Addie is moved to tears when G.T. tells her that his cancer is in remission. He asks for her hand in marriage, and in true Addie fashion she says, "You don't have enough to do these days? You need something else on the schedule?"
• She insists on cooking all the food for the wedding and Hope has to drag her out of the kitchen to shop for a wedding dress.
• When G.T.'s cancer returns full-force, Addie stays by his side around the clock and is with him when he passes away.
