• Braverman runs the grill at the Welcome Stairways diner and is G.T.'s right-hand man.
• He recruits Hope to go door-to-door with him to get people to sign the petition that will put G.T. on the ballot for mayor. When people hesitate, he reminds them of how much G.T. has already done for the community.
• Braverman's not too fond of the current mayor and believes the rumor that the Real Fresh Dairy gets to do whatever it wants in return for funding Millstone's campaign.
• Braverman impresses Hope with his yo-yo tricks and his ability to cook for a crowd with perfection. He compliments Hope on her waitressing skills.
• Braverman gets beat up by three guys who tell him to shut up about G.T.'s campaign. Braverman writes an article about the incident that gets published on the front page of the local paper. He explains how the attack has made him more determined than ever to end the corruption in town.
• He finally works up the courage to ask Hope out on a date and she runs off without answering him.
• After she explains that she was afraid, Braverman sets up the diner for a practice date which ends in their first kiss.
• Turns out that 120 people listed as registered voters hadn't ever registered. Braverman and Adam lead a student protest against dishonest government outside Town Hall at the end of December. They tell Mulhoney that they're done with the "lies and deceit" and want him out of office.
• When G.T.'s cancer returns, Braverman takes turns with Addie and Hope to stay by G.T.'s bedside until the end.
