Peeta and Rue

We're going to mark Peeta's status as "hopeful romance," because clearly he's got it bad for our gal. But that's for another movie. Right now, he's just a good buddy hunched in the foxhole with Katniss, which puts him pretty clearly in sidekick territory. He manages to help her out of a few scrapes in the arena, while his natural affinity for the camera gives the District 12 Tributes a boost with the sponsors that Katniss can't quite manage.

Rue's definitely a sidekick too. Her ability to hide makes her an invaluable little ace in the hole. She also notices the nest of tracker-jackers that Katniss uses to dispatch a few Careers. Rue also makes a martyr for Katniss to be inspired by: an innocent murdered by the Capitol, someone whose death Katniss can use as fuel every time her anger reserves run low.
