Katniss Everdeen

There's no question who the protagonist is here: we're pretty much by her side the whole movie. What's interesting is that Katniss doesn't really think of herself as a heroine. She'd much rather be out in the woods hunting, and she's not really interested her growing status as a symbol of hope in Panem.

But Katniss has a soft spot: she cares about her sister, her mother and people close to her. Because of that, she's willing to go through something like the Hunger Games. Reluctant heroine she may be, but never let it be said that she doesn't come through in the clutch.
