Alexander Andrews

If there's a main mean man here, it's Andrews, Ellie's father, who stands in the way of her marriage to King Westley and symbolically prevents her from pursuing her independent desires, period. But of course things are more complicated than that. The plot thickens as the film continues, and Andrews, like his daughter, undergoes a real change of heart, to his credit. So he's not only a villain, even if he starts out as one.
