Jim Dixon

No doubt about it: Jim Dixon is our main man as far as this book goes. The limited-omniscient narrator's perspective is totally limited to what Jim thinks and feels. And even though Jim might not always be the best guy, we have to like him for making our lives a little more interesting. After all, what kind of story would we be reading if Jim weren't a rogue? Throughout Jim's misadventures, we root for him to break free from his oppressive job and get the girl of his dreams. It's Jim's story, after all.
