Tuesday Morning
November 7, 1967
- Mother Barker is rocking in her chair next to the bed in which her husband, the foreman, rests. He is dying.
- Abby brings in some tea and watches as Mother Barker lovingly tends to her husband in his final hours.
- It's the truest of love between these two, and they reminisce about first meeting and marvel at the love they hold for each other.
- The foreman—a.k.a. Barker—is in terrible pain and he wants to move on.
- Mother Barker tells him she'll die, too, shortly after he does, and that in "the next life we will work other miracles […]." They're together forever, in other words.
