Edgar Bug

The Bug is the antagonist because he's the one in conflict with our protagonist, Jay. So what's the beef between these two?

The Bug wants to steal an entire galaxy so he can use its subatomic energy to destroy the Arquillians. This makes him nothing but a carapace-covered jerk, and Jay isn't a big fan of bullies.

If the Bug succeeds, the Arquillians will destroy Earth, and Jay's rather attached to this little backwater planet. This fact motivates Jay to stop the Bug from succeeding. It may not be personal but it's conflict nonetheless.
