Character Role Analysis
Kew Family versus the gestalt
When the gestalt is performing well under Lone, it resembles a happy, successful family. It is inspired by nature, grows organically, and bleshes naturally (see "Symbols" for the word bleshes). The Kew family, on the other hand, is twisted from Mr. Kew's anti-touching, anti-nature philosophy. The gestalt wants people to feel they belong; Mr. Kew's philosophy splits people apart. The two families are definite foils for one another.
Baby
This strange infant is the very definition of an information tool. He's some sort of super-computer, so to speak, permanently frozen at a stunted infantile age. Baby matches every fact given to him with such facility that he invents an anti-gravity generator, all while hanging out in his bassinet. His only function is to provide information to the rest of the gestalt. And, we suppose, to be really, really weird.
