Emily St. Aubert

Emily's an easy character to root for—she's orphaned and nearly penniless, at the mercy of her nasty aunt and evil uncle, and actually pretty brave and resourceful when it comes down to it. Along the way to regaining her wealth and nabbing Valancourt, she has to navigate ghosts, creepy noblemen, and a perilous voyage by sea. We'll give her a couple fainting spells here and there—she's deserved them.
