Bessy Higgins Timeline and Summary

Bessy first appears on the road when she runs into Margaret Hale and Margaret gives her a bouquet of flowers. Bessy is thankful, even though she's in pain from her illness.
Later on, Margaret comes to visit Bessy at her house. Bessy is unable to stand at this point. Margaret bathes her forehead and reads to her.
Bessy gets sad when she hears her father talk about the Milton workers' strike. She doesn't want there to be any conflict.
Midway through the book, Margaret receives word that Bessy has passed away. Poor thing.
