Character Role Analysis
Guenever
With Guenever, we get a two-fer. She's not only the romantic interest for our protagonist, but she's also the main squeeze of Lancelot, our sub-protagonist. While Guenever is a good Queen to Arthur, she doesn't have the same kind of passionate feelings toward him that she does for Lance. While this triangle is in precarious balance throughout most of Books 3 and 4, it finally collapses and leads to the central tragedy of the novels.
